Unter den Linden

For Berliners, Unter den Linden is not just a promenade, but part of the city's lifestyle. The road that was originally built was initially just a bridle path and has been expanded over the years. Frederick the Great saw to it being expanded into a large promenade. His equestrian statue still adorns the east end of the street. Numerous magnificent buildings were erected along the street. These include the Prinzessinnenpalais, the Arsenal, the Kronprinzenpalais and the Opera House. After the end of World War II, reconstruction began. There were also many buildings in the style of the architecture of the 1960s. On our city tour we will introduce you to the history of the street Unter den Linden and its buildings.
